Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like molecule, fat-soluble and present in every cell of the body.

It belongs to the ubiquinone or coenzyme Q family. The name “ubiquinone” suggests omnipresence in living organisms (eng. ubiquitous = omnipresent).

Coenzyme Q10 plays a role in the process by which the cell produces energy. With ageing, its concentration in the body decreases.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E, along with vitamin C and the mineral selenium, contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, protecting cell structures (DNA, fatty acids, cell membranes) from damage caused by free radicals.

Free radicals are generated in the body as a result of normal metabolic processes as well as when exposed to harmful substances in the environment, such as cigarette smoke and various pollutants.

Vitamin C contributes to the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E.
